Getting Started as a Product Manager

As a product manager (or facility manager), you're the day-to-day user of DPP Kit. You issue and manage credentials for your organization's facilities and products.

Prerequisites

Before you can start issuing credentials:

  1. Account created — You've registered or accepted an invitation
  2. Email verified — You've confirmed your email address
  3. DID configured — Your organization has a DID (typically set up by your pilot leader)

If your organization doesn't have a DID yet, you'll see a prompt on the dashboard.

Your Workspace

The Toolkit is your main workspace. Access it from the top navigation bar. It contains:

  • Credentials — List, issue, and manage credentials
  • Organization — View your org details and DID

Credential Tabs

The Credentials section has tabs for:

  • Credentials — Browse and manage all issued credentials
  • Issue — Create new credentials
  • Validate — Verify a credential by URL

Typical Workflow

1. Create Facility Records (DFRs)

Start by registering your facilities. Each DFR gets a GLN-13 identifier and establishes a resolvable identity for the facility.

2. Issue Product Passports (DPPs)

Create product passports for your products. Each DPP gets a GTIN-14 identifier and can reference a facility DFR.

3. Record Traceability Events (DTEs)

Document supply chain events — transformations, transactions, and associations that link products and facilities together.
