What is DPP Kit?
DPP Kit is a Digital Product Passport issuance and verification toolkit built on open standards. It enables organizations to create, manage, and share verifiable digital records about their facilities, products, and supply chain events.
Why Digital Product Passports?
Regulators, trading partners, and consumers increasingly need trustworthy product information: Where was it made? What's in it? Is it compliant? Digital Product Passports answer these questions with cryptographically verifiable records that can't be forged or tampered with.
DPP Kit implements the UN Transparency Protocol (UNTP) — an emerging global standard for supply chain transparency.
What DPP Kit Does
| Capability | Description |
|---|---|
| Issue credentials | Create signed Verifiable Credentials for facilities, products, events, and conformity assessments |
| GS1 identifiers | Automatically generate GLN-13 and GTIN-14 identifiers, or bring your own |
| Identity resolution | Register credentials with a GS1 Digital Link resolver so anyone can look up a product by scanning its identifier |
| Cryptographic signing | Every credential is signed with your organization's DID (Decentralized Identifier) and can be independently verified |
| Multi-org support | Practitioners and standards bodies can manage credentials across multiple organizations |
Credential Types
DPP Kit supports five credential types aligned with the UNTP specification:
| Type | Full Name | Purpose | Identifier |
|---|---|---|---|
| DFR | Digital Facility Record | Register a facility or location | GLN-13 |
| DPP | Digital Product Passport | Describe a product | GTIN-14 |
| DTE | Digital Traceability Event | Record supply chain events | GTIN-14 |
| DCC | Digital Conformity Credential | Attach certifications/assessments | GTIN-14 |
